"Love or Money?" Activity

The Detective's Diary

This morning I and sg F went to Clarkson's house near Cambridge. The owner, Mrs. Molly Clarkson was killed by a cup of hot milk with plenty of tablets.

The inert fatal factor of a rich woman like Molly Clarkson is usually her money. Actually her son R, youger daughter Diane, and brother-in-law A were all asked for money last night. Only Sara , the daughter lived with Molly, didn't reveal any desiration of money in the very night. But I thought Molly might treat her like a slave. By the way, she could make good sandwitches.

We found the tablet bottle in Diane's room and told it to every family member one by one. Sg. F wrote down every statement as usual. But one family member restated the location as "Diane's bag". That was correct. But we had not told anyone about it. Only the murerrer would know it. So we arrested Sara Clarkson. She wanted to be along with Mr. Hoggis and her mother was always the obstruction between them over ten years.

Sara did want Molly's money but she would give it to Mr. Hoggis for love. Everyone around Molly wanted her to die and get her money. But actually the fatal factor was not money. It was love. Love kills. I thought Molly might be surprised with it.
